Music for All and a month of Inspiration

One of the main themes that came out of our Vision Project was a concern for our organ. Another theme that arose was the possibility to use music and the organ as a form of outreach to the community. We have decided to bring these two ideas together and have a Music for All group. Over the next few weeks and months we will form a group that will teach music in many forms to the community. The idea is to bring people together to learn instruments and to sing together. Currently every Thursday morning Art for All meet in church. Using this model of socialising and teaching we have

Dethroning Mammon a Lent Book Group

As you may know Michael Last who was priest in the five villages north of town and Martin Tanner from St Mary’s have both left the Deanery. Consequently because of a lack of other options the Bishop has made me Rural Dean. I think that here we have a great opportunity to grow our cooperation with the parishes in our area. We have seen over the last few years many different projects come about because we have chosen to work together. ┬áRecent examples are the Foodbank, Job Club and the Nativity play in town. This Lent is an opportunity to work with these other parishes in our annual Lent group.
